Onboarding email examples you can copy
Four short campaigns of welcome emails and follow-ups for new users. Each email is written out, with what starts it and when it stops. Copy one into Sendocado, or paste it into your agent and it sets it up.
1. Welcome (3 emails, days 0, 2 and 5)
Starts when: someone signs up. Stops when: they reply.
2. Onboarding follow-up (2 emails, days 1 and 3)
Starts when: someone signs up and hasn’t done the one setup step. Stops when: they do it.
3. Check-in (1 email, day 14)
Starts when: someone finishes onboarding. Asks how it is going, by reply.
4. Win-back (2 emails, days 30 and 37)
Starts when: someone signed up 30 days ago and never clicked anything. Stops when: they click or reply.
Each example is for Acme, a made-up product whose first setup step is connecting a project. The emails come from Maya, who built it. Your app adds the tag trial when someone signs up and activated when they finish that step. Each delay counts in whole days.

Welcome, {{ first_name | there }}
From Maya at Acme
Hi {{ first_name | there }},
Thanks for trying Acme. I’m Maya, I built it, and this address reaches me.
The fastest way in is to connect your first project. It takes about two minutes.
If something gets in the way, hit reply and tell me. I read every one.

One tip for your first week
From Maya at Acme
Hi {{ first_name | there }},
One small thing that saves time: pin the project you open most. It stays at the top of your sidebar, one click away.
Try it the next time you’re in.

How’s it going?
From Maya at Acme
Hi {{ first_name | there }},
You’ve had Acme for five days. How is it going?
Hit reply and tell me one thing that works and one that doesn’t. One line is plenty.

2. Onboarding follow-up
2 emails, days 1 and 3
Audience
- Taghas the tagtrial
- Tagdoes not have the tagactivated
Starts when: someone signs up and hasn’t connected a project.
Stops when: your app adds the tag activated. They no longer match the audience, so they leave the campaign. A reply stops it too.
Set up an onboarding follow-up in Sendocado for contacts tagged trial who don’t have the tag activated, from Maya. Two emails: on day 1, one link to connect their first project; on day 3, offer help by reply. Stop when they reply. Show me the emails and who gets them before you set it live.
